ABOUT US

OUR PASTOR

Hello, I am Pastor Brad Dunker, the Undershepherd of Cape Fear Baptist Church here in Wilmington, NC. God has blessed me with pastoring this old-fashioned, Bible-believing, Spirit-filled, vibrant and growing church.

I would like to invite you to come and be part of one of our Spirit-filled services, hear the word of God preached, and fellowship with our warm and friendly God-serving people. We love visitors and we would surely make you feel welcome and at home in our church.

On Sundays, we offer classes before our main service that include adult and teen Sunday School and structured aged based Sunday School for the younger children. We have a qualified nursery staff for infants and toddlers for both Sunday School and during services. We have both morning and evening services on Sundays.

On Wednesday nights, we hold a prayer meeting and then dig deeper into verse-by-verse teaching of scripture. We also have separate age-based meetings for the youth and include singing, teaching and godly focused activities.  For other godly activities, we offer monthly youth outings and activities to further their character building and learning of God’s Word. Nursery is also available on Wednesday nights.

Our music program includes both an adult choir and youth choir for members. Special singing is always a part of our services in the form of solo or small groups. Of course, every service includes well-loved old fashioned congregational hymns from our hymnal.

Here at Cape Fear Baptist Church, we believe the scriptures in that the Way for a person to be saved is to realize that you are sinner, repent of your sin, ask Jesus Christ to become Lord of your life, and submit to Him daily. You must be born again to a new life in Christ!

We agree with the Scripture where Jesus says: “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father but by Me.” —John 14:6 KJV. We believe Jesus Christ has defeated sin and death for us on the Cross and He is the Only Way to eternal life.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that WHOSOEVER believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” — John 3:16, KJV

I look forward to your visit with us, and excitedly desire to minister to you. God is doing amazing works at Cape Fear Baptist Church! Come and join us and serve Him with joy!

In Christ,

Pastor Brad

OUR BELIEFS

The Scriptures

We believe that the Bible, both Old and New Testament, is the complete, inerrant, infallible revelation from God and is verbally inspired of God.  We believe the 1611 King James Authorized Bible is God's preserved Word for English speaking people today.

God the Father
We believe that God is supreme in His person, eternal in His being, absolute in His attributes, and glorious in His perfection.

God the Son

We believe that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God, the virgin birth, His deity and sinless life, His vicarious death, His bodily resurrection and ascension, and His personal, Pre-millennial Return.

God the Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity and that He executes the plan of God for our conviction and salvation.  Christians are partakers of the Holy Spirit and empowered for service by Him.

The Fall of Man

We believe that man was created in the image of God, and by choice, fell into sin and death, hence every person is sinful and under condemnation to eternal judgment.

The Salvation of Sinners

We believe that the salvation of sinners is wholly of grace, and that Jesus is the only way of salvation.  The condition of salvation is repentance toward God and Faith in Jesus Christ and His finished work.

The Security of the Believer

We believe that those who receive Jesus Christ as Savior are eternally secure.  Our security rests on the finished work of Jesus Christ.

The Church

We believe that the visible Church is a congregation of baptized believers, practicing New Testament principles, believing its doctrine, observing its ordinances, exercising its autonomy.

Heaven and Hell
We believe in the eternal blessedness of the saved in Heaven and the eternal punishment of the lost in hell.
